Jumping is the new running

You know what guys... I'm so over running! This is the new sh*t:

I'm not gonna lie, I was fricking nervous as we went up in the plane.

I mean, initially I wasn't even going to jump because I was afraid the landing would worsen my SI injury. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing and man, am I happy that I did it! But when the door of that tiny plane opened and the wind whooshed by reality hit me. My instructor said: 'If you don't want to jump.... that's too bad! You're going to anyway!' And before I knew it we were free-falling at 120 mph. I was expecting a huge sinking feeling in my stomach on plummeting down, but it was completely absent. I absolutely loved the free fall, every bit of the 30 seconds it lasted. It was surreal! Then he opened the chute and the sudden deceleration made my stomach lurch. This is when I started screaming, as all the excitement finally caught up with my vocal cords, LOL.

My instructor 'handed me the reigns' and we made quite a few dizzying spins as we descended on the beautiful island of Ameland. I knew that somewhere above me E was having the time of his life:

Then we landed :-( And I waited for E to set foot on ground:

We couldn't stop raving about the jump. The adrenaline kick was written all over our faces:

Now we're talking about jumping from 5km height (with one full minute free fall)... or maybe even taking a course and doing solo jumps. One thing is for sure, this is definitely not a once-in-a-lifetime thing for us ^^
Thanks to Skydive Ameland for this amazing experience and good-spirited, crazy, but very competent instructors!
