Beet the Bulge!

Chocolate & beets, it's a combination not so uncommon in the culinary world. A combination I had to try, of course! I wasn't really feeling a chocolate beet cake or such, but this red velvet pancake recipe on Skinny Weighs sounded just right.

Another delicious breakfast recipe to start your day right and help you beet the bulge ;-)


Red Velvet Power Pancakes (makes 4 pancakes; serves 2)

Ingredients


  • 4 small beets, cooked and peeled (about 150 g beet puree)
  • 1 banana
  • 4 egg whites
  • 32 g (1 scoop) Dymatize Elite Whey Protein Isolate Chocolate Fudge flavor
  • 25 g (2 tbsp) coconut flour
  • 25 g whole wheat flour
  • 8 g (2 tbsp) raw cacao powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder



Method


  1. Puree all ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
  2. Bake batter in a non-stick pan lightly coated with oil.
  3. Drizzle with homemade chocolate hazelnut butter and rain chocolate sprinkles all over your pancakes ;-)
